WORK EXPERIENCE:
12/92 – 05/2001 Contract Engineer: (Florida Department of Transportation). 5548 N.W. 9th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This position supervises the contract unit of the Broward County Maintenance Facility and coordinates the inspection of highway maintenance by Department inspectors. Reviews, signs and seals, reports, specifications and contracts in accordance with Florida Statutes. Monitors contract work progress on multiple major projects to ensure inspection integrity and contract compliance with plan requirements and intent of specifications. Serves as technical adviser to the Maintenance Engineer in contract matters. Reviews and takes part in field decisions involving contract and specification interpretation relevant to scope and intent of contract, changed conditions, disputes and need for supplemental agreement or change orders. Acts on behalf of the Department on such matters as field adjustment, changed conditions and other unforeseen circumstances requiring immediate action.
